Here we will start with the top 3 social platforms: Facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter
Facebook:
Create Facebook Group
Go to Facebook and click on “Create” at the header section to create a new group
Create a group based on the niche of the website that we are promoting. Let’s say we are promoting a career website, so we should create something related to careers.
Make sure it is public, so people can join and post. For career site, let’s put “Jobs India” or “Career Forum” , or “Employment Group” or something similar..
After creating the page, let’s add a nice background image. You can select free images from https://pixabay.com/ also, based on the theme or name of your page/group.
For the first day on Facebook, just post 2-3 regular posts without promoting your own website and try to invite others.
Try posting some informative posts in the niche and ask people to join or introduce
The ideal frequency of posts should be 1-2 posts per day
Now let’s move to Linkedin
LinkedIn is ideal when it comes to promoting career-related websites. Here are some of the tips for LinkedIn marketing. You can use business email for creating account and mention as “intern” / “marketing associate”
Join Groups
You can start by joining groups where your target customers actively participate. For example, in case of promoting a career website or job board, let’s join public groups focusing on keywords: “Jobs” , “Recruiters” etc. It will take 2-3 days for your group membership to be approved. You can see if any is approved and try that.
Post about yourself and about your website, but don’t overdo, maybe a single post like this in a month in a single group.
For example, we are promoting a career website, then the target audience is recruiters and Job seekers.
Targeting Job Seekers:
- Try a search for posts that say, “Looking for a job “and the comment and tell about your job board and its features.
Example comment:Sir, you can try registering at www.jobisite.com for many new jobs and it’s all free. You can find many recruiters and many hidden unadvertised jobs also.
Thanks,
Your name
Targeting Recruiters :
2) Try connecting to recruiters and job posters also. Search for posts which has job listings and then like and comment and tell about your job board and its features.
You will see jobs in the Jobs category of groups
Example comment:
Sir, can you also try www.jobisite.com for a free job posting and resume search. You can even post jobs by just sending emails. It’s all free and you will surely like the service.
Thanks,
Your name
Look for problems and challenges they are facing and directly address these problems; offer your advice and solutions to them.
Don’t overdo, so 1-2 messages per group a day.
Status Updates:
You can use 2-3 statuses a day and talk about your services. You can also share some useful tips and like and share the content of the targeted audience. If you want to be noticed by recruiters, let’s like and share their content. Again don’t overdo.
Twitter is another good channel we need to focus
First, follow people. If you are running a career website, then let’s start with following people with the same niche. Let’s first follow people with “recruiter” and “jobseeker” keywords. Follow just 5-6 people a day only.
After following, retweet or like tweets in the same niche.
Now let’s tweet our website. Pick some topics/articles from the website and then post as a tweet.
Use HastTags. For example, I am trying to post an article from this blog,
So my tweet could be:
