Interview with Marwan Ghazi

Today I am so excited to have Marwan Ghazi joining me today who is seriously one of the sweetest human beings on this planet. For those who don’t know you, he is a very successful digital marketing professional and has helped many businesses with his powerful marketing strategies.

So, Marwan, how did you come to be a marketing & advertising professional? Was it always something you were interested in or did you fall into it?

Thank you for having me! I’ve been exposed to Marketing and Advertising from an early age. It’s a long love story. Believe it or not: my mother used to pay Cannes Lions winners ads video for me to be quiet or eat my meals at the age of 4! Hahaha, it’s true!

It’s defiantly something that I both interested in and fall into. I made sure that from university days until my career that I make what I learn is within Marketing and Advertising.

Tell us about your latest work?

It was with Volkswagen under Tribal World Wide. I strategized and planned what became an online game to promote Volkswagen Golf R. It was a lot of fun!

What is your preferred strategy or routine?

Research -> Insights -> Trends. By acquiring their data, I am able to create and formulate a strategic plan to laser target the right audience, right time, right location and more to sell the product over achieving the KPI’s.

What advice do you have for aspiring marketers?
Boys and girls! Always learn, staying hungry and staying foolish (quoting Steve Jobs) will make you a shining star in your job. Always learn and don’t be afraid to create out-of-the-box ads, even if it strikes controversy, be thick-skinned and bold. That’s how to succeed in this business today.

What was the hardest challenge you remember while achieving success for any client?
Selling wall paint. I had 3 types of audiences I needed to convince to use our client’s paint. It was tough. Even with the best data tools or external support. It was the toughest thing I ever experienced in my 15 years in the business!

What is the best collaboration that you have done with a brand?

RedBull of course! It was a beautiful experience for both of us. They were open to all digital and traditional-on ground advertising ideas. The result was just fantastic! (and they gave us an endless supply of RedBull drinks at the time at Tribal Worldwide!).

Tell us something we don’t know about Digital Marketing?

Acquiring data. Data is available about your consumers in every way shape or form, from your keyboard words to your visit to TESCO buying corn flakes! Everything is recorded and used by digital marketers for research and targeting.
