Govt. jobs may provide less salary than the private sector but govt. employees enjoy more holidays and off weekends than private-sector employees.

Here are some advantages of govt. jobs -:

  1. Holidays -: Govt. employees enjoy weekend holidays and also have a lot of other holidays as well. As there are a lot of festivals in India, and these jobs cover up the maximum portion of the holiday list of the yearly calendar in India. Therefore, being a govt. job employees, you can have a lot of holidays to go out for outings with family and friends.
  2. Low Pressure -: The pressure level is comparatively low in govt. sector if you are committed towards your job.
  3. Prestige -: Govt. officers have a lot of prestige in the eyes of public and also, they work at state level or central level.
  4. Free health care -: If you are working as a govt. job employee, in that case govt. bears all the medical expenses, not just for you but also for your family.

Disadvantages of govt. jobs -:

Advantage of Private Jobs-:

1.Work style -: The work style in private sector jobs is efficient and fast-paced. Employees complete the given task in a given time frame and the hard work of a person is always appreciated.

2. Higher pay -: Private sector jobs have much more salary than government jobs and also private sector offer to you scope to earn incentives or perks for hard work.

3. Job satisfaction -: In private sector you have to work more till late hours but when you move out you will be satisfied that you have learnt a new skill today and has given your best to your company and also your hard work is always appreciated.

4. Pure merit -: Promotion in private job is given on the basis of the daily performance of the person in the office and they award it to the person who deserves it the most because he/she is honest and hardworking.

Disadvantages of Private Jobs -:

  1. Pension -: In private sector you don’t get pension as in government sector, you may get higher salary but at the end there is no pension.
  2. Job security -: Private jobs don’t have security as government job have. In private sector you may be terminated from the job at time of recession but this is not the case of government sector.
  3. Holidays -: Holidays are very limited in the sector, if your deadlines are not met you might have to work for long hours and even during public holidays.
